Selection Process : RRB Muzaffarpur

    RRB notify the vacancies through the Employment News/ Rojgar Samachar (English/Hindi/Urdu). Such a notice may be viewed on internet website. The received applications are scrutinised for eligibility and the prima-facia eligible candidates are called for a written examination vide call letters sent to a month in advance of the date of examination. The eligibility of the candidate is examined at different stage and the candidature of the candidate may be cancelled at any stage even thereafter empanelment. The question paper is being printed in English, Hindi & Urdu and in other languages if necessary. The examination will be held generally in Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga. But if the no of candidates is in greater number, exam may be conducted at other nearest places also.

    In most categories of jobs there is no interview after the written examination. For a very few specific categories there is an interview after the written examination. For certain other categories there is a skill test like Typing test/Shorthand test etc.. For Assistant Station Master & Assistant Loco Pilot aptitude test is also conducted. For NTPC categories two stages written examination is conducted. If RRB feels necessary, more than one stages written examination may be introduced in any category.

    The application details furnished by the successful candidates are verified by calling them for counseling and scrutiny of original documents. There after a panel of names is recommended to zonal railway to the extent of vacancies. Further process for appointment is done by the zonal railway.

    The selection process is based on merit subject to the rules and regulation issued by the Ministry of Railway, Govt. of India, which includes reservation for certain communities and groups as for example Scheduled caste, Scheduled tribe, Other Backward classes, Ex. Serviceman, Persons with Disabilities. The details are published in the relevant notifications.

    All system works without any fear. There is no scope for corruption, influence or discretion in the selection process.
